System Engineer - Disaster Recovery Specialist

We are seeking an experienced System Engineer - Disaster Recovery Specialist for a full-time position to join our team. This role focuses on supporting the Office of Information Technology's Disaster Recovery Unit in creating, implementing, and executing Disaster Recovery Plans for mission-essential systems. The position is hybrid in New Jersey.
What You'll Do
- Support the Disaster Recovery team in creating, implementing, and executing Disaster Recovery Plans for critical systems impacting various public and private sectors
- Conduct detailed risk assessments and business impact analysis on infrastructure technology interdependencies
- Perform client engagement work associating technologies with business processes identified through meetings with internal IT teams, agency partners, and management
- Document the relationships between business impact analysis, risk assessments, and meetings with business owners
- Prepare and execute Disaster Recovery testing tasks and develop training material related to Disaster Recovery
- Develop IT DR Plans based on business impact analysis, backup strategy, disaster recovery, emergency procedures, etc.
What You'll Need
- 2 years prior experience working within the lifecycle of Disaster Recovery
- 2 years experience in building Disaster Recovery Plans
- 2 years experience conducting business impact analysis
- 1 year experience with hot/cold/warm sites
- 1 year experience with high availability/failover planning
- 2 years experience with IT infrastructure recovery
- 2 years experience conducting backup assessments
- 1 year experience with Disaster Recovery Exercises
- FEMA ICS training/certification
- Strong knowledge of business continuity management principles, procedures, techniques, and disaster response
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation, facilitation, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
- Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
The pay range for this position is $32 - $37 annually (USD). Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role receive paid time off and may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
