HR Manager – Payroll & Labor Compliance

Position Summary
The HR Manager – Payroll & Labor Compliance is responsible for overseeing all human resources and payroll-related functions for a high-volume, unionized Levy Restaurants operation. This role ensures accurate payroll processing, union compliance, and timely resolution of timekeeping issues while supporting managers and employees with day-to-day HR needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. This position serves as a key liaison between operations, payroll, union representatives, and corporate HR.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications
3–5 years of HR and payroll experience, preferably in hospitality, food & beverage, or venues
Experience working in a unionized environment strongly preferred
Hands-on experience with timekeeping systems and payroll processing
Strong knowledge of wage and hour laws, preferably New Jersey labor regulations
High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
Comfortable working non-traditional schedules based on event needs
Preferred Experience
Hospitality, stadium, arena, or large-scale event operations
Experience with tip pools, service charges, and variable payroll environments
Familiarity with Levy Restaurants systems a plus
What Success Looks Like
Payroll is accurate, timely, and compliant every pay period
Missed punches and corrections are resolved quickly and consistently
Union dues and tip payouts are processed correctly with minimal escalation
Managers trust HR as a reliable partner for payroll and labor questions
