Assistant Director Of Food & Nutrition Services
The Assistant Director of Food & Nutrition Services plays a key leadership role in managing all aspects of hospital foodservice operations. This includes patient dining, retail and cafeteria services, catering, quality assurance, sanitation, and infection control.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the overall management of Food & Nutrition Services, ensuring client and patient satisfaction.
- Assist with operational planning, cost-effective management, and adherence to budgetary goals.
- Direct safety, sanitation, and preventive maintenance programs to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain strong relationships with patients, clients, and hospital departments, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Promote professional growth and development of team members through coaching and leadership.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to align foodservice operations with the facility's overall plan of care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, or related field, OR Associate's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or Registered Dietitian (RD) strongly preferred.
- 1–3 years of hospital or healthcare foodservice experience, depending on education.
- 3–5 years of foodservice operational management with inventory and purchasing expertise.
- Strong knowledge of food and catering trends, with focus on quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
- P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience preferred.
- Proven leadership, supervisory, and coaching skills with strong communication abilities.
- Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and computer applications.
- ServSafe® certification required.
