Deputy Director Of Women's Services

Reports To: Director Of Women's Services

Location: A Woman's Place, 1049 Howard St.

Status: Exempt, Non-Union

Salary: $80,000

Primary Responsibility:

The Deputy Director Of Women's Services Will Oversee All Operations Of A Woman's Place, Facilitate Individual And Group Supervision, Support The Skill Development Of Staff, Ensure Compliance With Program Contractual Requirements, Regulations, And Objectives, And Serve As The Director Of Women's Services In Their Absence.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Oversee 24-hour operations of A Woman's Place under the direction of the Director of Women's Services
  2. Complete monthly program reports for the Board of Directors.
  3. Monitor the work of and coach frontline staff, and train, coach, develop, evaluate, and supervise the site management team
  4. Provide individual supervision for Assistant Managers on a weekly basis.
  5. Manage staff schedules and daily program activities
  6. Ensure data quality and timeliness of relevant databases such as ONE, Epic, and others.
  7. Follow up on the department's plan with staff training, evaluation, and continuing education
  8. Respond effectively to grievances and client concerns
  9. Assist in the development and execution of Continuous Quality Improvement plans for existing programs and the development of new programs
  10. Maintain all program policies, procedures, and objectives
  11. Act as community liaison, interfacing with neighborhood groups and stakeholders
  12. Interact effectively with city departments, provider partners, funders, volunteers, and potential donors
  13. Participate in program planning, development, and maintenance of program goals
  14. Work in close partnership with other Deputy Directors to ensure consistent and high-quality services across all program sites
  15. Act as Director of Women's Services in their absence
  16. Adhere to established policies and procedures
  17. Attend all required training and meetings
  18. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a human services field or equivalent in education and work experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience providing managerial oversight and individual coaching in a non-profit setting.
  • Extensive understanding of homelessness, trauma, DV/IPV, HIV/AIDS, substance use disorder and recovery, mental health disorders, neurodiversity, justice involvement, and systems of oppression.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with databases, including ONE, CHANGES, and Avatar.
  • Ability to educate, teach, train, and evaluate front-line and supervisory staff
  • Ability to engage with others in a positive, energetic, helpful, and trauma-informed manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Experience working with people from various cultures and backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with Office and G-Suite. Ability to work in a networked computer environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
  • TB clearance and verification of full COVID-19 vaccination within 7 days of hire.

  • Passion for working with at-risk client populations
  • Lived experience with homelessness and/or systems of oppression
  • Strong self-awareness, cultural humility, and commitment to personal praxis.
  • Excellent organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of San Francisco community resources and neighborhoods

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk as needed throughout the shift for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to sit and use a computer, including keyboard and visual display terminal, for extended periods of time.
  • Finger, hand, and wrist agility.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an environment where interruptions are the norm and background noise is present.
  • Ability to move through buildings, commonly including stairs, between buildings, and out in the community.
