Scope Of Work: Performs skilled work in the routine, general, and preventative custodial, grounds, and/or building maintenance and assists in coordinating the work activities of staff engaged in performing similar duties. Reports to the College Facilities Manager at River Valley Community College.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency.
Experience: Two years' experience in custodial, grounds-keeping, or light maintenance work with equipment operation and maintenance and some supervisory or project coordination experience. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license.
Recommended Work Traits: Knowledge of the methods and tools used in maintenance and repair work. Working knowledge of one or more of the building trades. Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Knowledge of groundskeeping and simple practices relating to the care of grounds. Ability to use the tools and equipment of the trade. Ability to maintain and make ordinary repairs to machinery and equipment. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with immediate associates. Ability to direct, train, and monitor the work of other staff. Must be willing to maintain an appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
