The Deposits, Pricing & Governance Crew is part of Everyday Banking. We build and operate the bank's foundational deposits and pricing capabilities and the governance controls that keep our platforms safe and compliant. Our work spans API platforms, real-time eventing, pricing services, integration with core systems, resilience and observability.

We're interested in people who:

• Have led a squad or small team, building an inclusive and high performing engineering culture.
• Can uplift engineering excellence, standards, patterns, automation, CI/CD, testing and documentation across the squad.
• Are collaborative and can partner with Product, Risk, Security and stakeholder teams to align strategy, manage trade-offs and communicate progress with clarity.
• Ship value iteratively: guide roadmaps, balance resilience and feature delivery, and remove impediments so the squad can move fast with quality.
• Are knowledgeable in scaling platforms using AWS and modern tooling; champion SRE principles, capacity planning, performance engineering and cost optimisation (FinOps).
• Care deeply about customer outcomes, engineering craftsmanship and doing the right thing.

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

• SAP Banking experience, particularly in deposits and pricing domains.
• API platforms and strong API design (OpenAPI), with a bias for contract first and reuse.
• AWS and cloud native architectures for scalability, reliability and cost effectiveness.
• Kafka (or equivalent event streaming) for real time messaging and integration.
• OpenTelemetry and observability practices (metrics, logs, traces) at scale.
• SRE practices: SLOs/error budgets, progressive delivery, incident management and resilience engineering.
