The posted compensation range of $61.86 - $61.86 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

The stationary engineer will ensure the proper operation and maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, distribution lines for steam, hot water, plumbing, electricity, refrigeration, sanitation for hospital and medical office buildings. Responds rapidly to emergency situations, including fire, and disruptions of above stated utilities. May access medication storage areas in accordance with their job function and hospital policy. FLSA Exempt Status.

• Accurately takes readings and makes mechanical round checks within the allocated time frame.
• Reports any discrepancies immediately to the supervisor.
• Completes preventative maintenance work orders per standard indicated on work order.
• Operate and maintain electrical power distribution under normal or emergency conditions.
• Operate and maintain water distribution systems and respond appropriately to emergency conditions.
• Respond appropriately to the disruption of specific communication system failures. Fire Alarm; Nurse Call; Code Blue, Overhead Paging; etc.
• Maintain medical gas systems and respond appropriately to any disruptions.
• Operate and maintain boilers or other heat/steam generation systems.
• Operate and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Accurately record all personal activities directly related to the operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment under the responsibility of the Engineering Department.
• Correctly interpret and implement codes, rules, regulations, and protocols that govern the safe operation of healthcare facilities.

Experience:

• 4 years (with 2 years in a hospital setting). Applicants with less than 2 years of hospital experience may be considered when staffing permits.

Licensure and certifications:

• Driver's License: CA (AUTO:CA) Required
• HVAC License: CA (HVAC:CA) Required
