The posted compensation range of $37.40 - $55.63 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

This job is responsible for planning, managing and evaluating the daily operations associated with requisition development, other purchasing-related activities, non-stock inventory management, and support of the revenue capture programs to ensure that all activities are conducted in a cost-effective and efficient manner, meet customer service standards and are compliant with internal policies, standards, procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. The position will oversee the ordering and receipt of all clinical med-surg supplies for all FMG clinics. An incumbent serves as the principle liaison between FMG and the CHI Procurement Service Center as well as liaison to CHI APSC team, serves as FMG/FHS representative on CHI task-forces focused on the Material Management Information System (MMIS e.g. Lawson) procurement application and related processes.

Essential Function:

Operations: Manages and evaluates the daily operations associated with requisition development and other purchasing-related activities, non-stock inventory management, and support of the revenue capture programs. Monitors and oversees the ordering and receipt of all clinical med-surg supplies for all FMG clinics.

Budget & Resource Administration: Participates in development, administration of the FMG regional procurement supply department budget; exercises effective cost control by monitoring and adjusting expenses as needed to stay within budget; approves expenditures within defined scope of responsibility; identifies variances and takes corrective action to remedy within designated scope of authority; keeps Director apprised of budgetary impact issues.

Business Development & Marketing: Cultivates and maintains professional relationships with internal and external customers including medical directors, physicians, physician groups, patients, supply vendors and external entities to foster opportunities for revenue enhancement, enhanced customer service and to positively impact core clinical measures. Meets with medical supply vendors to receive information relating to pricing, specifications, quality, availability, product changes, etc. on supplies and equipment.

Performance & Quality Improvement: Produces the statistical reports for assessing the performance metrics, develops analyses and reports reflecting productivity levels and goal achievement related to Requisition and PO process. Receives and reviews internal, external audits and survey reports, findings to determine appropriate changes or corrective action required. Monitors and assesses current operations to identify opportunities for performance and process improvements; recommend ideas to Director; implements approved changes and ensures that staff receive the training to ensure their understanding of quality, performance improvement initiatives.

Policy & Procedures Management: Participates in the development and updating of applicable policies and procedures; implements and evaluates new, revised policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; ensures internal guidelines are documented and understood in accordance with the standards and practices.

Regulatory Compliance: Interprets and ensures compliance with regulatory standards and requirements; keeps abreast of regulatory requirements, professional standards and competitive industry practices, as well as organizational initiatives with potential to impact current operations; monitors impact on existing activities to maintain service levels and work quality.

Short & Long Term Planning: Participates as a member of the department management team in short and long term planning activities; participates in developing and implementing projects to address current and future needs to support business objectives.

Staff Management & Development: Manages and evaluates the work of staff; complies with human resource management regulations; ensures adequate staffing levels; ensures that employees are qualified and trained; makes employment decisions, establishes performance standards and evaluates performance; educates, guides, counsels and develops staff and addresses performance concerns.

Education/Experience: Associates Degree required in related field. Significant, appropriate and relevant years of work experience may substitute for the degree requirement with four (4) years experience in procurement and one (1) year of successful lead or management experience. Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred.
