Salary Range: $95,000 - $100,000 Per Year
CommonBond invites qualified candidates to apply for our Director of Services role at our Central Office located in Saint Paul, MN. The Director of Services leads the design, delivery, and evaluation of trauma-informed, evidence-based supportive services for residents living in CommonBond Communities. This role integrates strategic leadership with deep subject matter expertise to promote resident stability, independence, and wellbeing across the lifespan. The Director will supervise a multi-tiered team, guide service model development, and foster strategic partnerships to meet the evolving needs of residents, including those exiting homelessness and other vulnerable populations.
Essential Job Functions and Associated Tasks
1) Strategic Program Leadership
- Design and implement trauma-informed, evidenced-based models for delivering supportive services, with a focus on integrated practice between the service provider and property operator.
- Embed resident voice into service design and implementation by incorporating feedback loops, advisory input, and lived experience perspectives to ensure services are relevant, respectful, and community informed.
- Drive change management efforts within Advantage Services – engaging cross-functional teams, aligning stakeholders, and fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
2) Staff Supervision & Development
- Provide strategic supervision and coaching to a team of Regional Managers who oversee service coordinators, ensuring alignment with CommonBond's mission, priorities, and service standards.
- Model equity-centered leadership by fostering inclusive team practices, addressing systemic barriers, and supporting staff in delivering culturally responsive services.
- Partner with the Vice President and Training Team to proactively identify and implement professional development opportunities that elevate service quality and support staff growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-informed practice, empowering staff to use metrics and resident feedback to guide decision-making and enhance outcomes.
3) Program Administration
- Lead the development and continuous refinement of policies and procedures that shape supportive services delivery, leveraging subject matter expertise to ensure alignment with regulatory standards, emerging best practices, and CommonBond's mission and values.
- Collaborate with Resource Development on seeking new revenue sources, completing grant reports and supporting department revenue and expense goals.
- Partner with VP for the development of department budget and oversee assigned budget areas
- Partner with VP and training team to ensure service delivery model and practices align with billable service opportunities.
4) Team Participation & Communication
- Demonstrate a positive and collaborative team approach by providing team direction and encouraging trust and cooperation.
- Promote a culture of proactive communication, accountability, and solution-oriented teamwork.
- Champion cross-functional collaboration and strategic alignment across departments.
Minimum Requirements
- Seven+ years of progressive experience in affordable housing, supportive services, or human services program administration, including direct oversight of Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) or similar housing-based service models.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience, including managing multi-tiered teams and overseeing service delivery in housing settings.
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing strategic partnerships, particularly with housing providers, funders, and community-based organizations serving vulnerable populations.
- Demonstrated experience working within diverse communities, which include people of various ages, gender, sexual orientations, national origins, income levels, ability levels, religious affiliations, races, and languages.
- Strong knowledge of housing-based service models, including Housing First, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care principles.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across internal teams, residents, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment with both internal and external partners.
- Experience utilizing MS Office Suite and web-based data programs to inform program evaluation and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master's degree in Social Work or related field
- Licensed Social Worker in the State of MN with LSW, LGSW, or LISW.
- Five years experience developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating supportive services for residents in affordable or supportive housing settings.
- Experience in project management, especially related to service integration or cross-sector initiatives.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to enter data into a computer.
- Ability to interact verbally with internal and external audiences.
Other Requirements
- Must be willing and able to travel between sites.
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must be willing to carry a cell phone.
- Be Certified in CPR and First Aid or have the ability to become certified within six months of starting position.
