This position has the ability to work remotely out of Ohio with travel to Columbus and sites as needed. Position Title: Transmission Operations Maintenance Specialist Reports To: Director Transmission Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Basic Functions: Assist with overseeing AMPT system maintenance, and field services. Develop and implement processes, procedures, and documentation to ensure AMPT facilities are maintained and operated within regulatory compliance and utilize good utility practices. To provide maintenance guidance on AMPT owned assets, construction projects and potential new projects in planning. Essential Functions: Assist in overseeing real-time operation of AMPT facilities. Implement and manage AMPT-Member O&M agreements including preparation of annual budgets, payment schedules, spare part inventories and opportunities for mutual services. Implement and manage an asset management program and emergency preparedness program. Develop and maintain maintenance files and databases. Collaborate with Transmission Planning and Transmission Engineering to identify and implement capital projects to improve operational performance. Participate in developing requests for proposals, as well as vetting, selecting, and managing third party maintenance and testing companies and contractors. Participate in commissioning of new AMPT constructed projects and refurbishments. Assist in developing ratings and guidelines for electric equipment to ensure proper operation, maintenance, and compliance with applicable regulations. Assist in providing direction, support, and guidance on ongoing AMPT owned assets, potential new projects in planning and construction projects. Assist in development of annual transmission maintenance budget and overall transmission department budget. Coordinate and collaborate with other AMPT functions, Members, and other stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications: A two-year degree in engineering or related field is preferred. Other combinations of skills and experience may be accepted upon review. A minimum of 5 years of experience in electric transmission field services, engineering or maintenance and operations is preferred. Preferred knowledge of NERC processes and compliance obligations. Preferred knowledge of project management and operations planning software. Must be deadline/critical path oriented and have a strong ability to prioritize. Experience with Maximo computerized maintenance management system software applications preferred. Must demonstrate a high degree of expertise in the use of software tools that produce items such as spreadsheets, written reports, database reports and graphical presentations (e.g., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Strong verbal, written, and computer skills are essential; must demonstrate previous success in building effective business relationships. Must successfully complete FERC Standards of Conduct compliance training within 30 days of employment. Must be willing to travel.
