Oversight of critical spaces – capacity management, monitoring power and cooling requirements, and response to critical events and incidents. Work with external groups as needed to support and resolve issues impacting DC operations. Partnering with colocation suppliers and vendors to ensure 100% uptime and availability. Complete small projects independently and work with your manager on planning and completing larger local projects. Manage security and access controls for your site. Procurement and inventory: receive, track, and ship data center equipment as needed. Work collaboratively with partner and cross-functional teams within your data center. Provide technical guidance to vendors and foster vendor relationships. Oversight of hardware installation (provisioning) and decommission of workflows. Rack and stack of data center equipment, including but not limited to servers, networking devices, monitoring systems, and other equipment. Handle daily work through internal tooling systems such as JIRA ticketing and Confluence. Documentation of activities and strict alignment to SOPs regarding compliance and standardization. Participate and complete training that aligns with corporate objectives to bridge skill gaps and learn new relevant technologies. Works independently, evaluating incoming work and taking appropriate actions to resolve any open issues while understanding when to advance appropriately.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating and implementing system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Manage the load configurations of a central data communication processor and make recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Coordinate terminal orders and cable installation, network system planning, upgrading, monitoring, testing, and servicing. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requisitions. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers. May play a team leader role for developing System Administrators.
