At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are looking for a talented and self-motivated MRB Engineer to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and providing disposition for nonconforming material conditions on production aircraft parts and assemblies. Provide rework, repair, use as is, return to vendor (RTV), and scrap dispositions for non-conformances on fiber composite and metallic parts and assemblies. Provide Aurora liaison engineering support to Customers' Engineering and Quality departments, and any government agencies as necessary. Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and other departments as part of the Material Review Board (MRB) process. Interpret drawings, CAD models, specifications and processes. Provide and retain complete documentation of non-conformances for trending and historical references. Maintain the Repair Control Center (RCC) to control all non-conforming material. Support the RCCA and Corrective Action Board (CAB) process.
Minimum requirements include education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Quality or MRB related experience with parts manufacturing and assembly. Complete understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Proficient with MS Office applications. Experience with Root Cause and Corrective Action techniques, such as Five-Why and Fishbone diagrams. Experience using precision measuring equipment. Must be a US person.
Preferred requirements include knowledge of composite technology, layup, cure, trim, and assembly, along with composite rework and repair experience. Knowledge of machining and metal processing. Basic knowledge of advanced inspection media and techniques (FARO Arm, Laser Tracker, etc.). Basic understanding of blueprints, drawings and 3D modeling, such as use of CATIA.
Physical requirements include ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE. Follow Boeing regulations for lifting. Work onsite in Columbus, MS. Salary range (annualized USD) minimum range: $56,000.00 to $100,000.00 maximum range: $68,000.00 to $122,000.00.
