The Search Federation team is building the connective tissue between Cribl Search and the rest of the data world. Our mission: make it effortless for customers to query, correlate, and analyze data where it lives, in Snowflake, ADX, Elastic, Datadog, S3, and beyond, without having to move or duplicate it. This team owns how Cribl Search talks to the outside world: the federation layer and related query execution paths that bring "search anywhere" to life. We're looking for an Engineering Manager or Senior Engineering Manager who's as excited about federated Search performance and data architecture as they are about building high performing teams.

As an Active Member of Our Team, You Will...

• Lead and grow a team of backend and data systems engineers building Cribl's searching federated data capability
• Partner w/ product, arch, and platform teams to design and deliver high-performance providers/connections to external systems (Snowflake, ADX, Elastic, etc.)
• Shape the frameworks that power query translation, predicate pushdown, and results merging across multiple data locations
• Drive architectural excellence, testing rigor, and performance reliability as we scale
• Mentor and develop engineers, creating clarity and shared ownership across a technically deep team
• This position will require stand-by, on-call, or off-hours duties

If You've Got It - We Want It...

• 7+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2-3 years managing a team focused on searching federated data
• Background in log search, observability, security analytics, or data engineering
• Deep understanding of distributed query engines or federated data access
• Experience building or scaling integrations with external data sources
• Comfort with query languages and systems like Lucene, SQL, or domain-specific search DSLs

Salary Range ($225,000 - $275,000) The salary for this role is dependent on geographic location. The salary offered within the range described will be based on the individual candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive salary, Cribl also offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, paid holidays and paid time off, a fertility treatment benefit, 401(k), equity, and eligibility for a discretionary company-wide bonus.
