Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific position assigned to but they may include:

  • Logistics: Support daily management of all Cenovus logistical functions including fleet planning, product scheduling, & inventory management. Provide analytical support to better understand and articulate logistics movements, costs and performance. Provide back-up to pipeline, terminal, truck, and rail schedulers. Develop standard reports and respond to data requests. Participate in operational and planning meetings with the Logistics team and other functional groups.
  • Market Analytics & Fundamentals: Develop and maintain data pipelines, data models, and data visualizations in Power BI and R programming language used for forward inferences and strategy formulation by Traders and Senior Management. Develop and maintain market analytics tools and libraries used to forecast forward supply and demand balances for refined products. Work as part of geographically dispersed team, effectively communicating prioritized business needs and prioritized project statuses. Provide back-up vacation coverage to refined products market analysts on the team as assigned.
  • Data Analytics: Develop and maintain standard reports, ensuring timely and accurate responses to ad hoc data requests. Enhance performance reporting for marketing, trading, and scheduling teams, improving data accessibility and actionable insights. Automate report generation and data delivery, streamlining communication with key stakeholders and improving operational efficiency. Support economic, pricing, and forecasting functions by providing data-driven analysis to optimize decision-making processes. Conduct in-depth market studies and analysis, identifying key trends and opportunities to inform business strategy. Perform statistical analyses to provide valuable insights into business activities, supporting strategic planning and performance evaluation.

Who You Are: Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).
  • Available to begin work in either January 2026 or May 2026.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Solid analytical and Microsoft Suite skills, specifically Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal, judgement, and decision-making skills.

  • Education: Must be enrolled in a Business Undergraduate Program (Finance, Commerce, etc.)
