The Sr. Analyst, Finance, will manage the finances for Financial Services by preparing departmental budgets, monitoring revenue and expenses, investigating variances and reporting to stakeholders and service area management. Additionally, the position is responsible for the monthly consolidation and reporting of City-wide performance, including refinement of the current Power BI platform and further development of the City’s rolling forecast of expected revenue and expense levels. The position will also maintain ownership of the City’s long-term financial plan model and provide key analytical support for the City’s risk management efforts. The Sr. Analyst, Finance is expected to provide input, analysis, advice and consultation on internal finance operations, service area specific projects or programs and City-wide efforts. This may include analysis of new ventures or City initiatives, leadership of cross functional teams, and supporting and/or leading project and program evaluations. Recent examples of project work have been an analysis of inflationary impacts on City capital projects, financial evaluation of existing inter-governmental agreements and analysis of the City’s quarter cent capital tax renewal. Responsibilities will involve significant operational and financial data extraction and analysis utilizing various platforms, databases and reporting tools. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and database applications is required, while knowledge of Power BI, Crystal Reports and BI Launchpad is preferred.

Advanced / Expert in data query, extraction, and normalizing. Adept and efficient at incorporating and utilizing data in a variety of reporting tools and financial software packages. Ability to lead cross-functional teams. Ability to communicate at executive level and influence both up / down the chain of command as well as cross functionally.
Minimum College degree or equivalent work experience. Some positions may require functionally related certification or advanced degrees Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related field MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
