Apex Systems, the Nation's 2nd largest Technical Staffing and Services Firm, has an opening for a Sr. Planning Engineer with a Fortune 500 Company, Contract Position! The Senior Planning Engineer will build, augment, and groom infrastructure circuits on company state-of-the-art network. They will collaborate daily with Architecture, IP Planning, IP Design, and IP Operations. The main responsibilities include drafting MOP (Method of Operating Procedure) documents to perform infrastructure circuit augments, disconnects, hot-cuts, and grooms. They will also coordinate IPNOC calendar with GCR (Global Change Request) submissions and leverage CCNA level technical skills to build, test, disconnect and migrate infrastructure circuits for a variety of platforms and Autonomous Systems.
The Senior Planning Engineer should be comfortable navigating through complex projects, Autonomous Systems, processes, and tools. They should have routing & switching comprehension of various vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia), various dynamic routing protocols (IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, OSPF), and various switching protocols (LLDP, CDP, Spanning-Tree, MAC). They should also be able to troubleshoot router and switch circuits using either the OSI Model or DoD Model, automate repetitive technical and non-technical processes, configurations, MOPs, and reporting, and document NRT (Network Readiness Testing) platforms, devices, processes, and technical requirements. They should participate and lead conference calls with various layers of stakeholders involved.
