Function: Responsible for ordering and receiving purchases from departments as approved by authorized personnel. Maintains accurate records for input to Finance web for payment by Finance Accounts Payables personnel. Maintains inventory of what has been received. Contacts ordering personnel for pick-up or weekly delivery of received items. Develops relationships with vendors ensuring most favorable price strategy through bulk purchasing including exemption from sales tax.
Duties and Responsibilities: Purchasing Ordering and receiving items as requested by authorized personnel. Notifies requesting personnel for pick-up. Manages items until pick-up by ordering personnel or delivered to locations on a scheduled basis. Fiscal Duties Establish relationships with regular vendors to obtain favorable prices. Ensures vendor knowledge of The Salvation Army's tax exempt status. Notifies the Denver Operations & Finance Manager of any unauthorized requests for purchases outside of Salvation Army policy. Works closely with Accounts Payable personnel ensuring accurate timely payments to vendors.
Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications: Education/Experience High School or GED required. Some experience in corporate purchasing preferred. Skills Strong organizational skills with detailed follow-through. Ability to follow Salvation Army policies dealing with varied personalities both with vendors and staff. Qualifications Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to handle emergency requests in a professional manner. Ability to process invoices through the Finance Web system.
Driving: If the position requires driving: A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver's license is required. An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies. Background Check Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies.
