The role you'll contribute: The Database Coordinator for Surgical Services integrates nursing science, computer science and information science to identify, acquire, preserve, manage, retrieve, aggregate, analyze and transmit data, information and knowledge making it meaningful and useful to clinical practice, administration, education, research, and the expansion of nursing and other clinical knowledge. This includes the evaluation of applications, tools, processes, and structures which assist clinicians with the management of data in taking care of patients or in supporting the clinical practice for Surgical Services. The Database Coordinator works collaboratively with users of clinical information systems from Surgical Services, with various departments in the Information Systems division as necessary, and in problem-solving issues related to clinical information systems for Surgical Services. This Database Coordinator also helps coordinate aspects of planning, design, development, training, implementation, communication, maintenance and evaluation of existing or new functionality related to clinical information systems for Surgical Services. This person acts as a liaison between clinicians, IS technicians and analysts, and system vendors to develop and implement information systems that support clinical practice for the Surgical Division. The DBC supervisor is skilled in coaching, motivating, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of services for our patient population.

The value you'll bring to the team: Reviews previous days' cases for any warnings or errors. Participates in the planning, design, testing, and implementation of clinical information systems for Surgical Services. Develops and maintains reports for surgical services for hospital, division, and corporate leadership. Maintains logs and dashboards for implants, tissue, procedures, and other relevant data.
