Role Overview

Lockheed Martin Space is looking for an innovative and experienced Systems Engineer to support the team that designs, develops, fields, and operates systems for a variety of national security mission partners for a growing program in SPP Mission area. This is a key role in the successful execution of activities of major significance to the nation's National Security Enterprise. A significant focus on this position will be cross-organization relationships and collaborative problem solving. This role will interface with program teams and technical subject matter experts and as such the candidate must have shown success in working with internal customers to mutually agreeable outcomes. As a Systems Engineer for Requirements and Verification you will:

  • Develop/analyze/verify system level requirements and document & manage accordingly.
  • Coordinate with customer and other contractors to execute verification analyses and tests.
  • Organize/coordinate domain expert objective evidence creation and documentation.
  • Organize/coordinate system level technical reviews.
  • Support all phases of the program lifecycle (development, production, and post production)
  • Seek and maintain knowledge of current and developing technologies, design, and analysis methodologies
  • Build successful teams with internal stakeholders, (Business Development and central Engineering), as well as with external stakeholders (suppliers, mission partners and USG laboratories.)
  • Be accountable to the Program Manager for the engineering efforts including program execution and estimation of engineering scope in proposals

Qualifications

To be effective in this role, you will need:

  • Ability to organize, motivate and lead groups of engineering personnel, and demonstrate in-depth technical skills
  • 1+ years professional experience
  • US citizenship required, Top Secret clearance required prior to start

Basic Qualifications

Basic systems engineering understanding of requirements and verification (including requirement engineering, requirements management, and/or verification) Experience with system engineering processes Strong cross-functional communication skills Active or Current Top Secret with ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance; US Citizenship required

Desired Skills

Familiarity with MBSE concepts including Cameo and DOORS classic Experience performing in a Systems Engineering role on a large and complex space hardware development efforts Demonstrated ability to apply systems thinking and critical thinking skills, translating ideas into actions and results Demonstrated experience with development and delivery of space subsystems and components

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
