Position Summary: The Perioperative Service Coordinator is responsible for providing direct patient care in a perioperative environment. Additionally, this role is responsible for initiating and supporting work efforts that maximize quality, safety, and services in defined perioperative specialties in collaboration with leadership and providers. Assists with procedures and anesthesia and coordinates the ordering and securing of supplies, equipment, and instruments on behalf of providers. Provides clinical education to team members.
Hourly Range: $46.61 to $69.91 per hour (pay set based on years of relevant experience)
Eligible Incentives: Up to $4,400 in relocation benefits (100 mi. or greater) for qualifying positions
Hours per week: 40
Shift: Days, mostly Monday-Friday
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) is required.
Experience: Two (2) years of perioperative clinical experience (operating room nurse) and three (3) years nursing experience for a total of five (5) years of required experience.
Certification(s): Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at the time of hire; Achievement and maintenance of a Magnet approved certification is required within six (6) months of hire.
Licensure(s): Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Colorado is required.
Professional Membership(s): Active membership in a professional nursing or healthcare organization is required.
Unit Description: Operating Room at the Anschutz Campus in Aurora is a 14 OR unit that treats children and adolescents for any level of injury or illness. The unit supports 24 different surgical specialties and performs more than 23,000 cases a year. We are a unique, yet impressive team comprised of nurses, certified surgical technicians, anesthesia technicians, anesthesia providers, and surgeons. We perform a wide variety of surgical procedures including abdominal and thoracic surgery, bariatric surgery, cleft, craniofacial, and plastic reconstructive surgery, colorectal surgery, cardiac surgery, ENT surgery, fetal surgery, burn treatment, trauma surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology surgery, gynecologic procedures, transplant surgery, and urology surgery. Our OR nurses and surgical technologists receive extensive training and education in all surgical specialties promoting communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. We promote continued education and encourage staff to pursue specialty certifications. You will find our team to be a passionate and intelligent interdisciplinary team focused on providing excellent care to our patients, in a fast-paced environment.

Urology: The Department of Pediatric Urology provides expert care for children in the Rocky Mountain region and around the world with congenital and acquired urologic conditions. Our expert diagnosis, testing, consultation, and treatment offer the best possible outcomes. The Minimally Invasive Surgery Program in the Department of Pediatric Urology specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney, bladder, and other abdominal cavity organ disorders. Our experts are dedicated to providing the most minimally invasive urology care for children of all ages. We also offer the enhanced recovery after surgery, or ERAS protocol, which is designed to speed up recovery after surgery. While studied in adults, this is the first research of its kind to focus on ERAS surgery outcomes in pediatric urology patients undergoing reconstructive surgery.
