Manager, Engineering Delivery

The Manager, Engineering Delivery leads the engineering project management effort, including a team of project managers, in support of RES renewable energy projects. This role will be hybrid requiring a minimum of three days in office and two days working from home.

Requirements

Acts as liaison and resource for development and construction teams with Company’s engineering resources throughout the project life cycle.

Acts as key point of contact for Pre-construction and Construction for all engineering Statements of Work (SOWs). Aligns individual and team objectives to department and company objectives.

Provides oversight and support of Assistant and Engineering Project Managers during project activities.

Manages and supports employee development and growth.

Provides regular and direct feedback on performance and goal progress to direct reports.

Works closely with Assistant/Engineering Project Managers (A/EPM) on assigned projects (EPC, bid-build, major bids).

Reviews RFP and contract documents and exhibits to identify key items for engineering and provide engineering feedback for incorporation into final versions.

Works closely with the scheduling department and pre-construction to ensure all engineering deliverables are available when necessary to meet overall project schedule.

Identifies scope, develops schedules, and coordinates the engineering and design activities for:

  • Major bid/RFP opportunities
  • EPC construction projects

Establishes, communicates, and manages project engineering budget, schedule, and scope expectations.

Creates and maintains Request for Information (RFI) register with the document control system (Procore).

Performs review of designs provided by Engineer of Record for compliance to technical specifications/requirements/scope of work.

Identifies and develops SOW for engineering peer review of Engineer of Record design(s) with the RES engineering team.

Seeks continuous improvement opportunities for value engineering and efficiencies in design.

Identifies and quantifies potential risks, contract clarifications, and exclusions.

Facilitates handovers to project teams when projects are won or transition to late-stage development Design engineering / construction phase.

Identify and coordinate with outside engineers for services on projects.

Operates Company vehicle, as needed, for business at projects and meetings; eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage.

Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.

Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

Coordinates and host engineering kick off meetings (client and internal).

Assists Project Manager with establishing Job codes / Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Project creation wizard (create folder structure and work order) for design/construction phase.

Assists construction project coordinator to set-up document control system (Procore).

Maintains upkeep of design change log for periodic distribution to the Project Manager.

Ensures that the A/EPM sets up and coordinates technical design review meetings.

Ensures that the A/EPM sets up and coordinates Safety Thru Design review meetings.

Ensures that the A/EPM schedules and supports organizing site visits for Engineering.

Safety

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in construction management or civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering required.

Master’s degree in project management, business administration, or similar preferred.

Project Management certification preferred.

Professional Engineer certification preferred.

Five or more years of cumulative engineering experience with relevant renewable energy experience required.

One or more years of demonstrated leadership and portfolio management experience preferred.

Ability to travel domestically and internationally 5 to 15% required.

Must possess a valid Driver’s license.

Expert level of knowledge in:

  • Communication, internally and externally
  • General Civil, Structural, Electrical, SCADA, and Mechanical Design
  • General Design for Constructability

Advanced level of knowledge in:

  • Renewable Power Plant Design
  • Renewable Power Plant Performance Analysis
  • Project Scheduling Tools

Intermediate level of knowledge in:

  • Fundamental understanding of AutoCAD
  • MS Office (Project, Excel (charts, graphs, bars, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, COUNTIF, SUMIF, filtering, creating macros to automate common tasks, managing large amounts of data), PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Anticipated Base Salary Range:

$126,000 - $157,000

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible. RES offers benefits that are effective first day of employment. These benefits include the following:
