This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems, a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. Job Description: Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Designs and implements environmental solutions to address environmental challenges while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Evaluates the impact of engineering projects on air, water, and soil quality; proposes mitigation strategies to minimize environmental harm.
• Conducts environmental assessments, gathers data, and develops models to analyze ecological systems and predict outcomes.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to design technologies and processes that reduce waste, improve sustainability, and promote resource efficiency.
• Provides technical insight in areas such as pollution control, waste management, and environmental remediation.
• Develops and oversees projects that restore damaged ecosystems or improve environmental resilience.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Ability to analyze system requirements and develop engineering specifications
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across engineering lifecycle phases
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical documentation

Preferred Requirements

• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like MagicDraw or Cameo
• Prior experience working with military or aerospace platforms
• Master's degree in a technical discipline is a plus
