Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. The Engineering Technician will serve as the construction representative for large and complex infrastructure projects at Creech AFB, including mechanical, electrical, and structural systems. Responsible for monitoring construction progress, ensuring contract compliance, managing documentation, and coordinating with contractors and government stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: overseeing construction operations for technically complex projects involving base facilities and utility systems, developing project documents such as SOWs, IGCEs, RFIs, funding documents, change orders, and AF/DoD forms, reviewing plans/specs for feasibility and participating in pre-bid/pre-construction meetings; clarifying technical requirements for contractors, inspecting construction progress, materials, methods, and workmanship to ensure compliance with plans, specs, and safety/environmental standards, reviewing and approving contractor submittals and shop drawings; authorizing minor changes and substitutions, documenting daily inspections, maintaining logs, and preparing reports on work status and performance, recommending contract modifications, estimating associated costs, and preparing related documentation, supporting change order negotiations and tracking modifications using project management software, serving as liaison between contracting officers and project engineers, providing cost and schedule expertise, ensuring proper recordkeeping for closeout, "as-built" drawings, and updates to real property records, maintaining electronic project files and status reports in accordance with procedures, complying with all applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental codes, and communicating clearly and professionally with all project stakeholders. Qualifications to be successful in the role include an AS or BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution, minimum 3 years of experience in construction management, must complete required AFIT courses (WMGT 322, WMGT 422, WENG 200, WENG 400) unless already certified, and familiar with Air Force procedures, project management best practices, and federal construction codes.
