Engineer Position

System One is currently seeking an Engineer on a 12 month contract position located in Denver, CO. The Engineer will have a plant fleet based engineering role to support the company's energy supply projects group to help manage capital projects at the power plants across the region. The Engineer will be responsible for managing all emergent capital projects at the plant as well as supporting larger base and major capital projects. They will support reliability engineering in helping develop scopes and justifications for projects and putting those through the emergent capital request system/process and would be responsible for managing all the projects. The Engineer could be responsible for upwards of 20 small projects going on at one time in addition to supporting some of the larger base capital projects. The Engineer will be expected to be onsite 3 days per week or 5 days a week during project execution phase. They will work with operations and reliability engineering to learn about plant systems and how they operate. In addition to planning out future work to keep the plants reliable. They will attend morning POD meetings and oversee contractors performing/executing on the projects in the field and would be responsible for all the administrative paperwork, such as developing scopes of work, technical specifications, helping get quotes for equipment, bidding out if necessary and coordinating material deliveries and installation with the plant as well.

Engineer requirements include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint), ProjectWise, and Excel spreadsheets. The Engineer should have the ability to multi-task and juggle several tasks without sacrificing quality, take initiative, and have teamwork and interpersonal/communication skills. Experience with cradle to grave project management, prior experience working in a manufacturing/plant environment like a power plant, FE preferred, previous experience with project management and project plant development, charters, managing budgets, good with managing money, etc. A bachelors degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical or civil) and 2+ years experience are required.
