Dowty Field Service Representative

As a Dowty Field Service Representative, you will play a key role in providing direction and support to work groups to achieve assigned objectives. This position primarily involves supporting and maintaining the R391 (C130J) Composite Propeller System and its related components at a customer site, with travel requirements of up to 60%. The primary customer site for this role is MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.

This role is part of GE Aerospace's Field Service Operations team, which provides technical expertise and support to customers worldwide. The team is dedicated to ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and repair of GE products, including the Composite Propeller System, while delivering exceptional customer service and driving continuous improvement.

The Field Service Engineer – Composite Propeller Systems will provide technical direction, assistance, and hands-on support to customers in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of GE Aerospace products. This role requires extensive travel and a strong ability to manage customer relationships, provide timely communication, and ensure the highest standards of service and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general technical direction and assistance to customers in the operation, maintenance, repair, logistic support, and installation of GE products.
  • Deliver on-site interpretation of technical data and instructions to customers.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineering, Program Management, and Field Service teams to provide complete and prompt updates on program status, customer issues, failures, trends, and overall climate.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports, including market intelligence, sales opportunities, and program activities.
  • Support customers in scheduling maintenance, managing workloads, and ensuring parts meet established schedules.
  • Provide actionable recommendations based on findings and review the effectiveness of maintenance actions to identify training needs.
  • Anticipate program requirements and assist in implementing actions to address future needs.
  • Perform intermediate and depot-level maintenance, including hands-on repair and maintenance tasks such as disassembly, inspection, and assembly of the Composite Propeller System and related components.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, OR high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of aviation experience in a field service or maintenance role, OR FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
  • At least 2 years of experience performing extensive repairs, conversions, and maintenance work on engines and/or propellers.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% worldwide annually.
  • Must be able to pass a non-DOT drug test and a background check.

  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), including data manipulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and precision in work.
  • Strong team player with experience integrating across various organizations.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in high-pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues.

The base pay range for this position is $75,000 - $115,000 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan.
