General Purpose: The Computer Support Technician plays a central role in the Information Technology Department's culture of collaboration, coordination, and accountability using effective communication and problem-solving skills. The individual selected for this role will be responsible for assisting the police department with installing and configuring hardware and software on computer equipment; promoting effective use of technology by City Employees; providing technical assistance and operational support with hardware and software and providing a high level of customer service in response to user requests for assistance. Salary Range: $25.3865 per hour - $35.5411 per hour with a hiring range of $25.3865 per hour - $30.4638 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
Selection Timeline:
A City of Loveland background check and a Loveland Police Department background check are required (police background check described above). After successful completion of the City of Loveland background check, the individual selected can begin training in IT while still participating in the police department background check. If the individual selected is unsuccessful in the police department background check, the individual will be terminated.
In addition to the typical technologies of an Information Technology department this position may have the opportunity to work with advanced video technology with body worn cameras and video servers, endpoint management with Microsoft Intune, police radio equipment, and emergency response terminals as well as new and emerging technologies that enhance police services.
Must possess superior customer service skills, the ability to make sound judgments, be capable of innovative problem solving, and exhibit patience and understanding when dealing with stressful situations.
