Step Into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is looking to add a Civil Engineering Team Manager in our Denver, Colorado office. As the Civil Engineering Team Manager with experience in the renewables, water, and transportation markets, the successful candidate will be an experienced seller-doer and provide sound team leadership, strategic planning, project management, mentoring to staff, and quality control on small to large civil design projects in support of projects throughout Nevada. This position will be based in our Denver, CO office and will provide an important role to help grow and position Kleinfelder's civil engineering capabilities throughout Colorado. This professional should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering with strengths in site engineering, grading, drainage and storm water management, preparation of construction documents, and the ability to work within a team of engineers in the local office and in offices throughout Kleinfelder, including field staff.

Typical Duties Overview

- Lead operations for the civil engineering team including project managers, professional engineers, engineering interns, drafters/designers and support staff

- Support business growth and quality management for our team in Colorado.

- Lead planning, workload, and quality for the civil engineering team.

- Support the development and management of project scope, budget and schedule.

- Manage complex projects and provide detailed civil engineering expertise that includes civil/site, roadway, drainage, stormwater management, utility design and coordination.

- Generate professional plans, specifications, technical calculations, exhibits, and reports.

- Oversee material quantity take-offs and engineer's construction cost estimates.

- Coordinate with other design disciplines as needed to complete project deliverables including in-house Bridge Design, Environmental, Geotechnical, and Structural Professionals.

- Provide leadership in coordinating with other engineers, designers, project management teams, other lines of business, and field personnel.

- Mentor staff and assist project managers with project staff resourcing.

- Review Civil technical deliverables to ensure quality and standard of care is met.

- Participate in professional organizations.

Specific Requirements Include

- Experience in team management and leadership.

- Experience in providing project management and technical expertise on multiple projects for the evaluation and resolution of Civil engineering problems and designs.

- Experience in providing strategic planning and implementation in growing civil engineering practice.

- Self-motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Proven ability to work in a team environment engaging staff from large geographies.

Minimum Qualifications

- BS in Civil Engineering

- PE Registration

- 10+ years of progressive civil design experience

Benefits

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $112,000 - $175,000. We will be accepting applications through September 16, 2025.
