Associate Vice President, Human Resources Operations
The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the role of Associate Vice President, Human Resources Operations. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this position provides leadership for Human Resources Operations, building the crosswalk between operational excellence for the College of Southern Nevada. Provides oversight for HR operations to include Talent Acquisition & Classification, Salary Administration & Records and Benefits.
The Associate Vice President partners with college leadership faculty, professional staff, and classified staff to ensure the college is in compliance with policy and procedure while ensuring delivery of the highest level of service to internal and external stakeholders.
The Associate Vice President serves as "second in command" for CSN HR and works closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer to set the strategic vision for HR and then aligning that strategy with the mission, vision, values, and business of the college. The Associate Vice President manages and analyzes data to make recommendations to the Chief Human Resources Officer and CSN leadership to assist in their strategic decision-making. Overseeing, supervising, and supporting day-to-day operations of the Talent Acquisition & Classification, Salary Administration & Records and Benefits teams. Works closely with the CHRO on improvement initiatives aimed at transforming the department's culture to be data informed and focused on continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in human resources or a related field from a regionally accredited college/university: OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-5 years' experience.
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional HR Certification.
- Experience in a community college or post-secondary institution.
- Experience leading in a unionized environment.
- Experience working in an NSHE institution.

- Ability to work independently, after hours and on weekends when needed.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Skills in supervision and human resource management.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral format.
- Ability to establish collaborative relationships.
- Ability to organize, analyze and prioritize work, and data of self and direct reports.
- Skills in policy and procedure interpretation, development, implementation and training.
- Able to exercise effective judgement, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.

- Ability to travel to different campus locations for problem resolution, meetings, training, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply current federal, state and local laws, including regulations or guidance issued by the Department of Labor, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Starting Salary Range
Administrative Faculty E - The starting salary is $156,195.
