Cognizant Technology Solutions is seeking for a Sr Data Scientist – Data Engineer who could join our team of professionals in a permanent role.

Location: Plano, TX / Pleasanton, CA

Job Description (JD):

· We are looking for an Engineer who is good at Data Science & Engineering, preferably having experience in forecasting models, explainability layer & also nice to have experience in Grocery domain (mainly with Cost, Allowance, Markdowns) but need to have Retail domain experience and coming from a departmental store background is a plus.

· Strong hands-on experience and foundations in machine learning, including dimensionality reduction, clustering, embeddings, and sequence classification algorithms.

· Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face Transformers.

· Practical experience in Natural Language Processing methods and libraries such as spaCy, word2vec, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Flair, BERT.

· Practical experience with large language models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and benchmarking using frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex.

· 1 -2 years of experience in data engineering, with at least 1–2 years on Azure.

· Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, Azure Blob Storage, and Databricks

Salary and Other Compensation:

Applications will be accepted until Sept 23 2025.

The annual salary for this position is between $70,000K -$135,500K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
