Data Center Engagement Delivery Lead
Cognizant is seeking a Data Center Engagement Delivery Lead for a full-time onsite opportunity in San Jose, CA. This role will work from the office in San Jose, CA. Qualified candidates must have valid US work authorization.
The salary range for this role is between $142,000 and $167,000 depending on the skills and qualifications of the candidate.
The Datacenter Rack and Stack Manager will lead the team of Rack and Stack technicians and oversee the physical infrastructure setup and maintenance of data center environments, focusing on rack installation, equipment stacking, cabling, power distribution, and environmental monitoring. This role ensures optimal uptime, safety, and efficiency across multiple data center locations. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 12 years of Data Center Management experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Rack & Stack Operations: Lead the deployment, installation, and decommissioning of servers, switches, and other hardware components
- Power & Cabling Management: Design and implement power distribution using Rack PDUs (ZeroU, 32A, 3-phase), ensuring redundancy (A-feed/B-feed) and compliance with high-density rack standards.
- Vendor Coordination: Escort vendors during site visits, manage shipping/receiving of hardware, and ensure adherence to site protocols.
- Troubleshooting & Upgrades: Perform hardware diagnostics, replacements, and upgrades as needed, maintaining SLA commitments.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Utilize tools like Zenoss, Emite, and xMatters for real-time monitoring, analytics, and incident notifications.
- Documentation: Maintain updated CMDBs, rack elevation diagrams, cabling layouts, and environmental logs for audit and operational continuity.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all installations meet enterprise architecture standards and safety regulations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with rack-mounted servers, blade systems, and cabling best practices.
- Familiarity with power systems (UPS, PDUs), HVAC, and environmental controls.
- Proficiency in tools like ServiceNow, Zenoss, Emite, and xMatters.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes and SLA management.
- Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication skills across cross-functional teams.
