Director Of Payroll Operations
The LATAM Payroll Operations team manages payroll-related activities for associates across 13 countries in Latin America. As part of a Global Payroll structure within the Finance Operations Team, this role offers the opportunity for exposure to an international scope with extensive room for personal growth and development.
As Director of Payroll Operations, you will hold overall responsibility for leading payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely remuneration for associates throughout the LATAM region. Reporting directly to the VP of Global Payroll, you will closely collaborate with Global Payroll Operations and multidisciplinary teams spanning the Finance Operations network, Employee Experience Hubs, and Operating Units.

Responsibilities
Payroll Leadership & Compliance
- Direct and manage payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery for associates.
- Oversee preparation, review, and submission of variable and fixed payroll data to payroll partners.
- Approve calculations to ensure accurate gross-to-net outcomes, compliance with company guidelines for benefits (including taxation), and adherence to local regulations regarding tax and social security filings.
Strategic Leadership & Alignment
- Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related topics with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive the alignment and implementation of the Global Payroll Strategy across the region.
- Develop and standardize optimized processes, tools, and routines to ensure compliance with dynamic, in-country regulations while improving efficiency and effectiveness. Document procedures to drive consistency.
Operational Oversight & Process Improvement
- Provide subject matter expertise on payroll systems and processes to internal and external partners, including auditors and vendors.
- Proactively collaborate with stakeholders such as People Services, Financial Services, and Operating Units to create a seamless end-to-end process.
- Confirm payroll calendars with stakeholders, monitor adherence to deadlines, and track KPIs to assess performance in timeliness, accuracy, and service delivery.
Support Functions
- Work closely with Payroll Accounting, Mobility, and Equity Operations teams to streamline related initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes by analyzing pain points and driving scalable, standardized solutions across the region.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership experience, and adaptive skills:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in multi-country payroll operations within a multinational environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of taxes and social security regulations across LATAM countries.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems (experience in Workday is a plus).
- Proven experience managing diverse teams with a focus on team development and performance enhancement.

Additional Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Business, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience in an international matrix organization).
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and follow-up abilities.
- Experience in customer service principles and working within a high-paced, high-volume operational environment.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and propose solutions that drive impact.
