We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Stockbroking Development Team on an 18 Month max-term contract, within the Account Management Squad. In this role, you will contribute to strategic initiatives and drive new feature development across our stockbroking platforms. This includes working on Account Management API integrations, enhancing backend account functionality, modernising application architecture, and building high quality customer facing frontends.

As a senior member of the squad, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high quality code for new and existing features. The role is primarily backend focused, with some frontend development, using technologies such as C#,.NET (fullstack), React, and Angular, across both on premises systems and AWS cloud environments. You will play a key role in shaping technical solutions, maintaining system performance, and supporting ongoing platform advancement.

Development in this role would be both technical and career focused, you will gain exposure to complex stockbroking and financial domain knowledge, which strengthens both technical and industry expertise. You will gain exposure in a large-scale, regulated trading environment.

What you'll be working on?

You will work across a combination of cloud and on premises solutions, primarily using C#, TypeScript (React), and AWS services. This is a hands on engineering role where you will take ownership of your work, contribute to technical decision making, and help build robust, scalable systems that support our stockbroking platforms.

The role is primarily focused on cloud-based (backend) development, with responsibility for maintaining the lifecycle of account management systems and supporting client due diligence processes, fraud global checks and compliance related requirements for treating accounts. You will engage with a range of stakeholders across the business, interpreting technical requirements and ensuring solutions are aligned with business objectives.

In addition, you will contribute to strategic initiatives and deliver new features across our platforms, including Account Management API integrations, backend enhancements, and application modernisation. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack applications, build and support API integrations (including third-party services), and optimise database performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to technical design discussions, and ensure high quality, well tested code is delivered.

What will help you be successful?

• 7+ years' experience in C# /.NET development, with strong backend expertise
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud architectures (Azure also considered)
• Strong experience with ASP.NET, Web APIs, and API integrations
• Highly experience in designing and maintaining API integrations
• Solid experience with React or Angular, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
• Extensive experience with Entity Framework and strong MSSQL / T-SQL skills, including performance tuning
• Experience working across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to deployment and support
• Strong understanding of software design principles and user experience best practices
• Ability to contribute to complex technical discussions and influence outcomes
