Project Consultant

The Project Consultant within Solutions Centre is responsible for supporting our customers' transformation strategy through the management of cloud, on-premise, or hybrid implementation initiatives with SAP Activate methodology. The Project Consultant has the qualifications and business acumen to support large scale, high risk, strategic projects that span organizational boundaries including multiple business units and service partners/vendors. The Project Consultant will provide support to cross-functional teams responsible for delivering defined project outputs on time, on budget and with highest quality. Project Consultants assist SAP Sales teams during the Bid Phase by providing input into the proposal especially regarding the solution delivery model, project structure, organization, scoping, estimation and risk assessment. Project Consultants have ability to support complex projects or programs that require coordination of work between various parties such as: third party sub-contractors, SAP Development, and Global Support organizations.

We are looking for a team member who is able to demonstrate and/or is keen to learn the following:

  • The Project Consultant for Solution Centre is essential for translating customer expectations into a sellable, deliverable and compelling proposal, based on SAP Solutions Portfolio and in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Conduct solution planning activities and support execution of large scale, high risk, strategic projects according to the project plan
  • Position SAP delivery methodology – Activate, Agile, Best Business Practices and Model Company correctly with the customer and project team
  • Identify any solution risk, establish contingency plans ad identify trigger events and responsibilities for initiating mitigating action.
  • Support the Project Manager to identify the trade-off of the triple- constraint (time, cost and scope) to realize the expected business value.

Education and qualifications/skills and competencies:

  • Master's degree, or equivalent tertiary study
  • 1-2 years' work experience with customer facing roles
  • Team player with ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Good listener with excellent communication skills, empathetic, collaborative
  • Resourceful self-starters with strong interpersonal skills who are eager learners
  • Interested in technology, innovation, and how digital platforms can solve business challenges
  • Problem-solvers who are ambitious, passionate, resilient, proactive, open-minded, and able to manage pressure

Expectations and tasks:

We are looking for a team member who is able to demonstrate and/or is keen to learn the following:

  • Learn and understand the Customer Services & Delivery portfolio for the respective solution areas and delivers according to service specifications
  • Conduct job rotations relevant to the intended role with various teams within the business whilst meeting performance requirements
  • Case studies, classroom and self-paced learnings with a mix of technical and soft skill topics and on the job training
  • Work on relevant projects that demonstrate your communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong work ethic that delivers high quality outcomes
  • Demonstrate problem solving, time management, and communication skills through a range of activities during training and on the job rotations
  • Display effective communication skills to handle and explain customer situations (to both business end users and SAP technical/ functional consultants)
  • Adapt to knowledge on new technologies in a consistently dynamic and changing environment to support adoption of Rise with SAP methodology and associated tools like CALM, Signavio, LeanIX, BTP etc. to make the best usage of the investment of end customers

Post Academy

  • Build and maintain relationships and facilitate collaborative architecture & solution discussions with customers, to deliver the Intelligent Enterprise
  • Influence transition states toward joint business outcomes, building on SAP solution value and leverage industry and SAP reference architectures
  • Align and engage all stakeholders required for Deal Execution and structure responses to complex RFP's
  • Identify, extract, share and create knowledge assets for solutioning engagements with the internal Delivery Practices
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of various Solution architecture alternatives
  • Business development support, starting with identifying an opportunity and positioning it in a proposal that responds to the customer requirements based on SAPs service portfolio
  • Effective stakeholder management skills, internal processes understanding and orchestration skills with other SMEs to build value-based end-to-end service proposal
  • "Outside the box" thinking and creativity, paired with strong networking skills
  • Advise the account team on the best approach to achieve customer requirements, budget target, and minimize delivery risk
