The development center of SAP in Bulgaria is technology-focused and plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. The Role

We are looking for a Mid to Senior DevOps Engineer to join us and help deliver our cloud native services on Kubernetes and the wide variety of platforms SAP Business Technology Platform is delivered.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines that cover product build, release and deployment; code quality scanning; security, vulnerability and license scanning; test automation and test results reporting; security credentials rotation; etc.
• Monitor scan results and raise concerns with the team and security experts.
• Handle and follow-up with the team for open-source version updates based on scan findings.
• Build local development environment to support and optimize the development process.
• Configure, maintain and enrich the observability stack of the service.
• Collaborate with the team and product managers on new releases.
• Troubleshoot and fix deployment issues, automate processes as much as possible to avoid manual steps.
• Verify newly deployed landscapes.
• Adhere to the industry's best practices and the team's high standards for code quality.
• For those parts of the project, which are developed as open source, demonstrate thought leadership and be inclusive and supportive of the external community.
• Actively contribute to the process of continuous improvement: personal, team and services.

What You Bring

• 3+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with building CI/CD pipelines in all stages starting from static code checks, compilation, unit tests execution, integration testing, building docker images to deployment of the services on staging environment.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Istio is a definite advantage.
• Experience with some of the languages and technologies in our stack: Java, Go, PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge in Bash is required, knowledge in other scripting language (Python, Perl, Groovy, Ruby) is an advantage.
• Experience with some of the tools used in BTP is an advantage, ex.: Azure DevOps pipelines, Jenkins, Git, Maven, Docker, Artifactory, etc.
• Hands-on with Linux and computer networks.
• Curiosity and willingness to quickly learn new technologies, concepts and tools.
• Good interpersonal skills and fluency in English: collaboration in an international environment will be a regular part of your job.
• University education in computer science, software engineering or similar.

You Are Either Familiar With Or At Least Curious About

• Cloud computing, distributed systems, container technologies.
• Orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes, ingress controllers, load balancers, application gateways, etc.
• Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Alibaba Cloud.
• Open-Source software, projects and communities.
