Clockwork Systems was founded by Stanford researchers and veteran systems engineers who share a vision for redefining the foundations of distributed computing. As AI workloads grow increasingly complex, traditional infrastructure struggles to meet the demands of performance, reliability, and precise coordination. Clockwork is pioneering a software-driven approach to AI networking, delivering deterministic time, ultra-low latency, and seamless scalability for modern distributed systems.
We're looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to help design and scale the infrastructure that powers Clockwork. This is a high-impact role where you'll own critical parts of our CI/CD pipelines, cloud architecture, and monitoring systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and security.
Design, build, and manage scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure in AWS/GCP.
Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines to accelerate engineering velocity.
Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Pulumi, or similar tools.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment workflows, observability, and performance monitoring.
Set up and manage logging, alerting, and monitoring frameworks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, etc.).
Champion security best practices, including secrets management and vulnerability assessments.
Drive automation across environments to reduce manual effort and increase reliability.
4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
Expertise in CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins, ArgoCD).
Solid programming skills in at least one language such as Python, C++, or Golang, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
Familiarity with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation).
Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
Strong collaboration skills with developers and cross-functional teams.
Background in distributed systems or high-performance computing.
Experience supporting AI/ML workloads.
Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
Familiarity with FinOps and cost optimization in cloud environments.
Challenging projects.
A friendly and inclusive workplace culture.
Competitive compensation.
A great benefits package.
Catered lunch.
