What are we looking for?
Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Head of Office of Professional Staff Affairs (OPSA) London. This position is responsible for working with leadership to craft the vision as well as assist in the implementation of Cleveland Clinic London (CCL) policies for the medical staff.
You will work closely with the executive leadership of CCL, senior leadership of the Cleveland Clinic and new members of the medical staff and its leadership to develop the bylaws of the organisation, committee structure and responsibility matrices, reporting lines, policies and procedures, clinical areas of responsibility and clinical budgetary structure in furthering the mission of CCL.
You will under the CCL Chief of Staff, is responsible for management of the following primary functions: physician recruitment, credentialing/privileging/licensure, compensation, performance review process, compliance matters and overall medical staff governance.

What will your duties include?
- Leads the Office of Professional Staff Affairs (OPSA) and executes on strategy set forth by the Chief of Staff.
- Supports the Chief of Staff in developing the structure, function, responsibilities and membership of Clinical committees.
- Oversees recruitment and on-boarding of all medical staff in conjunction with Cleveland Clinic's Office of Physician Recruitment.
- Manages credentialing, privileging & licensing processes for all CCL medical staff. Manages maintenance and recertification as needed. Ensures all CCL medical staff are eligible to continue practicing medicine in the U.K.
- Develops and manages the annual performance review process for institute chiefs, department heads and staff physicians.
- Analyses staffing and physician salary requirements based upon new market analysis in-conjunction with CCF main campus.
- Participates in the annual operating and capital budget preparation for CCL and Chief of Staff.
- Acts as a steward in the design and implementation of organisational processes and practices that promotes the direction and strategy for recruitment and retention of physicians to support the mission of CCL.
- Works with the Chief of Staff and medical staff leadership on the development of short and long-range objectives, budgets and recruitment plans for CCL. This position drives application and implementation of established policies and acts as a liaison with medical staff and institutes for effective recruitment and retention of medical staff.
- Presents to leadership periodic reports reflecting the operations, long and short term plans, professional services, and financial activities for the Office of Professional Staff Affairs and other special reports as necessary.
- Partners with CC London leaders to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing health care delivery and with all appropriate accrediting inspecting agencies (e.g. Care Quality Commission) by continually monitoring the operation of services and programs and initiating changes as necessary.
- Addresses and listens to concerns about physician rights as part of the medical staff. Serve as a non-partisan steward that allows staffs to lodge complaints against another member of the medical staff team.
- Provide and guide information regarding the complaint process. Provide and guide on advice and resolution to any complaints.
- Liaises with Human Resources leadership for issues relating to the medical staff.
- Promotes favorable customer relationships and coordinates service-related issues of the medical staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we need from you?
- Extensive healthcare leadership abilities and a demonstrated track record of success in a complex healthcare environment (Essential)
- Strong knowledge of UK healthcare regulations (CQC, NMC, GMC, HCPC etc. frameworks) (Essential)
- Strong ability to collaborate with senior executives and clinical leaders (Essential)
- Master's degree in health care, Medical Administration or Public Health, or a similar advanced degree in a related field (Desirable)
- Experience participating in complex budgets, including compensation frame (Desirable)
- Experience working in an international or private healthcare system (Desirable)
- Knowledge of workforce planning and performance metrics (Desirable)
