Cleveland Clinic's bronchoscopy team is looking to add a Registered Nurse (RN) to their world-renowned program. Nurses in the Bronch Suite have a unique opportunity to strengthen their bedside nursing skills while also gaining advanced clinical experience. Many of our nurses have gone on to elevate their careers, including becoming Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). The Bronch Suite offers a dynamic environment with multiple pathways for professional growth and development. This role supports the Cleveland Clinic's mission and vision by delivering world-class care to a specialized population of patients with airway disease. We utilize some of the most advanced technology available to enhance patients' breathing and assist in the early diagnosis of lung cancer.

A caregiver in this position works days + on-call, from 7:00am - 5:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
  • Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
  • Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
  • Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
  • Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
  • Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
  • Educate patients and families.
  • Cover other nursing roles in the department.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of recent experience as an RN
  • Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience
  • In areas performing moderate sedation procedures must have current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Two years of recent experience as an RN

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
