On our facilities team, your job will be to create a comfortable and safe environment — just like our patients have come to expect. As an Environmental Services Aide, you will perform housekeeping duties in both patient and public areas to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the facility. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, utility rooms, nursing stations, bathrooms, locker rooms, exam rooms, offices and other assigned areas.

A caregiver in this role works evenings from 2:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. with weekend requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Perform housekeeping duties in patient and public areas to ensure a clean, attractive and safe environment. Areas include patient rooms, utility rooms, nurse stations, isolation rooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, exam rooms and offices.
  • Empty, clean and reline waste baskets.
  • Perform daily cleaning, high/low dusting, mopping, sweeping, spot cleaning, polishing and vacuuming.
  • Wipe tabletops, phones, TV cords, and doorknobs.
  • Replenish room supplies, such as toilet paper, paper towels, seat covers and hand soap.
  • Transport trash from utility rooms and collection spots to pick up points.
  • Assist in cleaning emergency situations that are observed or requested.
  • Maintain arrangement of furniture in patient rooms, offices and lounges.
  • Understand the proper use of chemicals, dilution, usage and measuring.
  • Participate in and attend all in-services, become familiar with the employee handbook and understand policies and procedures.
  • Accept and carry out assignments, provide coverage for laundry caregivers and perform other tasks as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to push bariatric patients

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Healthcare experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Performance of job duties requires standing, stooping, bending and walking for a duration of an eight hour shift.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
