As a CE Technician, you will maintain, service and repair medical equipment by taking preventative measures, cleaning or adjusting pieces as needed. While you may not interact with patients directly, your efforts will leave a positive, lasting impression – from the moment they enter the facility to the time they return home.

A caregiver in this position works days, Monday-Friday 7:00AM—3:30PM, with on-call availability once every six weeks.

Job Details

  • Provide routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc.) for equipment.
  • Maintain documentation of equipment, inventory, service and repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining medical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field OR Associate's Degree in Biomechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology OR equivalent specialized or military training.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET)
  • Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment.
  • Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • Ability to move up to 50 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
