Facility Operations Supervisor

We are seeking a Facility Operations Supervisor who will work directly with the Plant Manager to elevate our facility's safety culture and operational excellence. This role focuses on designing facility programs and creating procedures to expand safety, including creating, reviewing, and updating SOPs while providing resources for departmental training and compliance assistance. The position primarily supports the receiving department, with additional assistance to other departments as needed. This is a 60% office-based, 40% facility floor presence role ideal for someone who sees potential where others see status quo, believes every system can be improved, and has the diplomatic skill to inspire others to raise their standards. Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Design, develop, and implement company and facility-wide safety programs and operational procedures
  • Create, review, and continuously update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Provide resources for departmental training and assistance with compliance items
  • Primary operational support for the receiving department, with assistance provided to other departments as needed and requested
  • Set goals and find daily equilibrium between urgency and quality while maintaining safety and compliance as the paramount concern
  • Support and collaborate with the workforce for daily plant operations and tasks
  • May provide direction and guidance to managers under the Plant Manager's authority
  • Performs other duties and tasks assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of Industrial or Plant experience preferred
  • 3+ years experience in an industrial/plant environment preferred
  • Well versed in Win Web systems including: Reports, IMBW's, DWB's, Pyrophoric materials, Blanks, OFFC (If these acronyms are unfamiliar to you, this role may not be the right fit)
  • Complete understanding of Clean Harbors receiving process: IBOB, Offloading, Inspections, Receiving, Sampling, Waste Receiving Reports, Fingerprint Analysis, Final Coding, Storage, Scanning, PCB's, WCC, PCC
  • General knowledge of Clean Harbors SOP structure and format
  • Forklift training/experience
  • Computer savvy with proficiency in MS Office Suite – Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Lab operations and final coding processes
  • Exceptional eye for detail with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with internal and external customers including all levels of the organization
  • Natural collaborator who works effectively across teams and departments
  • Ability to adapt and pivot quickly while maintaining quality standards
  • Goal-oriented with ability to balance competing priorities and find daily equilibrium between urgency and quality
  • Strategic thinking with tactical execution skills
  • Authority and confidence to lead, influence, and work effectively at multiple levels
