Payroll/HR Coordinator
The Payroll/HR Coordinator is responsible for managing and processing team member timecards using Workday or approved spreadsheets, ensuring accurate and timely payroll execution. This role tracks attendance, PTO, and absenteeism, maintains team member records, and runs daily production and overtime reports. The Payroll/HR Coordinator collaborates closely with Operations and HR to ensure payroll data integrity, including updates for new hires, terminations, and rate changes. Additionally, the role involves resolving payroll/benefits-related inquiries, supporting employment verification processes, and assisting with special projects as needed.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Facilitate team member timecards via Workday or via spreadsheets completed and approved
- Track absentee's, PTO, update TM Attendance records
- Run Daily production and direct OT reports
- Review payroll documentation for accuracy and makes any necessary adjustments
- Collaborates with Operations to ensure the integrity of the payroll data including data related to new hires, terminations, transfers, and rate changes. Makes updates as necessary
- Researches and resolves questions from Team Members as they relate to the processing of payroll information such as vacation, holiday, direct deposit, garnishments, employment verifications, workers' compensation, retroactive pay calculations, tax questions, and other changes
- Assist with New Hire Onboarding, Background Checks, E-Verify and other personnel related actions
- Assist Team Members with explanation of Company Benefits and Benefits Enrollments
- Assist with Staffing and Recruitment needs
- Assist with TMX projects and initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree with emphasis on business or bookkeeping preferred
- 1-2 years prior experience with computerized payroll processing or other human resources functions, preferred
- Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems and/or Workday a plus
- Working Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local Employment Law, a plus
- Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Trustworthy – capable of handling and maintaining highly confidential information
- Must be detail oriented and organized
- Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
- Must be able to communicate effectively and constructively with all levels in the organization
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling
- Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
- Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time
