Pay:

Maintains direct contact with the general public on a daily basis and performs face-to-face and telephone reception duties for the Clay County Board of County Commissioners. The position may also provide clerical support to all departments within the County assisting with requests. This is a part time position.

Tier I

Starting Pay: $18.24/hr

  • Provides excellent customer service as initial representative and liaison for the County and via telephone
  • Receives and responds to public inquiries on the telephone and face-to-face regarding general County business
  • Provides information and resources on behalf of various departments
  • Answers multi-line telephone system and switchboard, county wide; as required for a variety of departments and routes calls and messages as necessary
  • Maintains the calendar and other message boards as well as the scheduling for the BCC Meeting Room and other designated conference rooms
  • Provides clerical assistance and data entry as required by BCC Administrative staff; occasionally prepares memoranda, letters and other correspondence
  • Supports in entering service requests into the appropriate databases for County residents as well as County departments i.e. pubworks, Tyler Permitting, PetPoint, RecTrack, and other related systems
  • Utilizes company software with skill and proficiency
  • During an emergency or crisis situation, this position will be required to be present at the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to provide assistance while activated in the call center

Tier II

Starting Pay: $19.15/hr

  • Will handle job duties of Tier I as well as the responsibilities listed below
  • Maintains the calendar and other message boards as well as the scheduling for the BCC Meeting Room and other designated conference rooms
  • Provides clerical assistance and data entry as required by BCC Administrative staff; occasionally prepares memoranda, letters and other correspondence
  • Creates reports and provides to CIC Manager so they may share with various departmental managers/directors in relation to the call volumes, types of calls, etc
  • Responds to inquiries on various platforms such as ClayConnected and AskClay
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of clerical/administrative experience
  • Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Any combination of education and experience may be substituted, so long as it provides the desired skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job

Working Environment and Physical Demands

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator and computer printer.

This position frequently communicates with the public. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Must be able to perceive, inspect, assess, and compare data and to create reports and documents as necessary to summarize.

Occasionally moves boxes and/or files weighing up to 10 pounds.

The position operates in an indoor office environment subjecting the employee to potential exposure to dust.
