Senior Python Developer

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join our technology team at Clarivate. The successful candidate will have a strong background in leading complex Python projects, with a deep understanding of data processing and data analysis, Machine Learning, LLM and Prompt Engineering. As a Lead Developer, you will be responsible for interacting with different stakeholders, understanding the business rules, and transforming data.

About You – Experience, Education, Skills, And Accomplishments

• Bachelor/master's degree in computer science, mathematics, data science or similar related discipline with 6+ years of proven track record in systems integration and building data transformation services.
• Experience in design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient Python code.
• Expertise in implementing the complex data processing pipelines and algorithms.
• Analyze and interpret complex datasets to drive business insights and decision-making.
• Work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure data quality and relevance.
• Strong proficiency in Python and related libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Seaborn, MatplotLib, Flask).
• Experience with data processing, ETL, and data pipeline development.
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as AWS Code Pipeline or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

It would be great if you also had...

• Knowledge of machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn).
• Experience in ML/LLM inferencing, LLM Prompt Engineering, Prompt based LLM finetuning.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and algorithms.
• Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
• Expertise in visualizing and manipulating big datasets.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in accordance with coding standards.
• Review other codes to ensure clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Define architecture of software solution.
• Implement software for specifications of high complexity for limited scale systems, or medium to high complexity for large-scale systems.
• Implement design changes to improve quality, performance, cost reduction, and standardization through analysis of designs and problem-solving techniques.
• Respond to direct or indirect customer inquiries regarding function and design and attend customer meetings.
• Design and implement alternative methodologies or techniques to achieving desired results.
• Maintain an understanding of software development, lifecycle, and delivery methodology.
• Provide guidance for new procedures as needed for the continuing development of high-quality systems.
• Provide technical training to other team members.
• Participate in the creation, implementation, and administration of departmental policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Maintain knowledge of technical advances and evaluate new hardware/software for company use.
• Automate tests and unit tests all assigned applications.
• Participate as a team member on various engineering projects and may lead small projects.
• Write technical application documentation.
