Join our dedicated team at the City of Virginia Beach as a Direct Support Professional II. We are committed to providing exceptional care and support to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities within a residential setting. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our participants through compassionate care and person-centered support.

Specific duties include:

• Implement person-centered individual support plans for up to twelve assigned participants.
• Assist with meal preparation, hygiene care, and activities of daily living.
• Complete all required documentation and billing processes accurately and ethically.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants based on their individual support plans.
• Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical appointments.
• Support participants in community integration opportunities and transport them as needed.
• Attend and participate in all mandatory meetings, supervisions, and trainings.
• Uphold participant rights, confidentiality, and follow all incident reporting processes.
• Collaborate productively with all internal and external stakeholders.

Available shifts:

• Shift 1 - Sunday: 7am to 3pm; Monday – Thursday: 7am to 9am/3pm to 9pm
• Shift 2 – Saturday: 7am to 3pm; Tuesday – Friday: 7am to 9am/3pm to 9pm
• Shift 3 – Sunday-Thursday 12pm-8pm or 3pm-11pm
• Shift 4 – Tuesday – Saturday 12pm-8pm or 3pm-11pm

A $2,500 hiring bonus is being offered for this position. Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original employment or reemployment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.

• $500 will be awarded in the first paycheck.
• $750 will be awarded upon completion of the six month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations".
• $1,250 will be awarded upon completion of the employee's one year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations".
