Part-time Direct Support Professional II

The City of Virginia Beach Human Services Department is recruiting for a Part-time Direct Support Professional II. The selected candidate will serve adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities within a residential setting.

Specific duties include but are not limited too:

• Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (ISP) for up to 12 assigned participants.
• Assist with meal preparation, hygiene care, and activities of daily living.
• Complete all required documentation to show progress or regression towards the participant's Outcomes, Activities and Essential Supports within the quality and deadlines outlined in regulation and policy.
• Complete all required billing processes to ensure the program accurately and ethically bills for services provided.
• Maintain the health, safety, and well-being of all participants in the program based on each participant's ISP.
• Prepare or review the medication administration record prior to implementation to ensure all entries match the physician's orders and that all necessary medications are on-site, available, and appropriately labeled.
• Check or verify medications delivered for accuracy and report inaccuracies immediately to the pharmacy and/or the Case Coordinator.
• Actively provide input into ongoing needs and resource identification processes. Identify, schedule, and support participants to participate in various community integration opportunities.
