Direct Support Professional II
Join our dedicated team at the City of Virginia Beach as a Direct Support Professional II. We are committed to providing exceptional care and support to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities within a residential setting. As a valued member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our participants through compassionate care and person-centered support. As a Direct Support Professional II, you will serve adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in a residential setting.
Specific Duties:
- Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (ISP) for up to twelve (12) assigned participants.
- Assist with meal preparation, hygiene care, and activities of daily living.
- Complete all required documentation and billing processes accurately and ethically.
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants based on their ISPs.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical appointments.
- Support participants in community integration opportunities and transport them as needed.
- Attend and participate in all mandatory meetings, supervisions, and trainings.
- Uphold participant rights, confidentiality, and follow all incident reporting processes.
- Collaborate productively with all internal and external stakeholders.

Shifts are split shift four days and one full day:
- Shift 1 - Sunday: 7am to 3pm; Monday – Thursday: 7am to 9am/3pm to 9pm
- Shift 2 – Tuesday – Friday: 7am to 9am/3pm to 9pm; Saturday: 7am to 3pm
A $2,500 hiring bonus is being offered for this position. Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original employment or reemployment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.
- $500 will be awarded in the first paycheck.
- $750 will be awarded upon completion of the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations".
- $1,250 will be awarded upon completion of the employee's one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of "Meets Expectations".
