Plant Operations is committed to supporting the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's focus on protecting and promoting the health of all New Yorkers by providing comprehensive building services. These services include multiple building trades responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of the agency's owned and leased sites. The Stationary Engineer position is critical to the operation of the Public Health Lab, a 24/7/365 facility. The Engineering staff monitors all critical Building and Laboratory equipment and answers to emergencies as required. We need 24/7 additional coverage during the cooling and winter seasons to monitor and watch and adjust water levels, fire suppression, and manually perform duties where automation is failing. The Engineers are still required to perform their regular duties and make rounds, monitor, and answer all other alarms and functions of the building. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
