Director of Technology Operations

The Sanitation Department, City of New York (DSNY), seeks a full-time Director of Technology Operations, in the Bureau of Information Technology (BIT) to oversee and optimize our agency's technology infrastructure, systems, and services. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Technology Operations, the Director of Technology Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the agency's IT infrastructure and will work closely with other IT leaders, business units, and vendors to support the organization's technology needs and align IT operations with business objectives. Providing technical expertise across operational teams within the bureau, as well as providing support throughout the agency's various locations. Engage in 24/7 support of the IT infrastructure to ensure reliable and sustained uptime for our business operations. The candidate should have a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, Systems, and Operations. Have experience managing cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with senior executives. Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing IT operational challenges. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present IT information to various stakeholders. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret IT performance data and provide actionable insight. Experience managing IT projects from initiation to completion.

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position; or 2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
