The New York Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) seeks a qualified candidate to serve as its Deputy Commissioner of Real Estate Services, responsible for the planning, management, and operations of the City's real estate portfolio. The Deputy Commissioner will oversee acquisitions and dispositions including purchasing and leasing, appraisals, design, and project management for leased spaces, ULURP applications, property, and implementation of initiatives to maximize efficiencies utilizing City-controlled real estate. The position will oversee all operations of the DCAS's real estate services, including managing properties surrendered by other City agencies as surplus; locating and acquiring property required for use by City agencies; long and short-term leasing of City-owned properties for revenue; disposition of real estate by means of sales and lease auctions; managing the portfolio-tracking systems and databases that supports all real estate operations; coordinating with other agencies for land use approvals; identify and implementing energy efficiency, storm resiliency, and economic development initiatives in City-owned and City-leased spaces; and managing the acquisition of private properties for City agency use. The Deputy Commissioner is responsible for planning, directing, and managing the activities of the following offices: Portfolio Planning and Management, Leasing and Acquisitions, Planning and Dispositions, Design & Project Management, and Financial Services.
