The City of Friendswood is currently accepting applications for a full-time IT Support Specialist, in the Information Technology Department. This position will perform advanced work supporting computer operating systems software and system administration; work involves installing and maintaining systems software and hardware; generating and applying fixes (patches) to the operating system and related software packages. Performs activities associated with a local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN); work involves network installation, support and maintenance, training, monitoring and analysis of existing hardware and software, and evaluation of potential network enhancements.
Work Performed:
Education and Experience: Four year college or university program certificate in computer science or related field; or three to five years of related experience (Microsoft NT, Office, Windows) and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requirements: Valid Texas drivers' license with a good driving record.
Schedules Working Hours: Full time 40+ hour work week, occasional weekend assignments and ability to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Position may require 24 hour availability during emergency conditions.
